If you were passion
And I were a cup
I'd hold myself under your waters
And be filled up
If you were love
And I were a heart
I'd promise myself
I'd never go tart
If you were a star
And I were an eye
I'd gaze upon you
So high in the sky
If you were a word
And I were paper
I'd make myself
As big as a skyscraper

Life is a harsh mistress. It is full of many trials and tribulations, most of which seem
unbearable until you have passed through that tempest unscathed and stronger for
it. It will make you drink from a cup of bitterness and have you dining at the table of
sacrifice most of your life. Be it from love unrequited, a job or loved one lost, in the
end it matters not. For you shall find your house of delight where you can rest your
weary legs and trouble will find you no longer. Drink and eat deeply my friend, laugh
at fates cruelties.

I stood there and did nothing, watching as the young rascal rushed the woman
and punted her baby. I take that back, I laughed until I cried and then fell on the
ground, possessed by a fit of laughter. You should have seen it. The baby went fifty
feet at least. His pose was perfect: Leg extended all the way to his head, arms
upraised to maintain his balance. Truly he was a professional. Of course the lady
wept and cried for her kid. It appeared that the guy wasn't having any of that, as
he told her to knock it off or else. What else was I have no idea, as the police

Often one wonders
Is love worth it?
Is it worth pain and suffering
Agony and hurt, bitterness and hate?
And then one remembers, love, joy
Happiness, friendships forged
That have tested and withstood the trials of time
Memories of laughter and pleasure
And the wondering goes away
It's true love hesitates, but in the end
Love is always worth it.
When I found her sprawled out on the floor with a needle sticking out of her arm and a bottle of ice water next to her, my worst fears were realized at that moment. I could no longer deny the truth. My daughter was a ice water druggie. Time seemed to slow down as a million thoughts raced through my mind. Oh how could I have failed so miserably as a father? I thought I had taught her better then this. I thought she would learn from my mistakes and stay away from ice water. What a fool I am. How could I have not seen the signs? Apparent lack of thirst, never hot, even when it was scorching. Turning down pop at dinner. The late night visit

take what you need and don’t forget to leave nothing when you go, because the emptiness left in your wake feels like home the air is thick with the smell of rain and it singes my skin everywhere it hits presses like fingertips cold drops on hot flesh, steam rises like smoke, white clouds curling up up and away escaping the gravity that keeps me captive tethered to the ground, rooted from below sinking deeper into the earth head upturned, neck reaching, forever searching for your stardust scattered across the sky
I loved you to the point of folly.
You were a Miser,
hoarding away
all of my foolish whimsy.
I once thought of you as Midas;
and when you touched my heart
I thought I would be golden, precious.
But I soon found that the weight
in my chest was too much to bear.
This is your private treasure,
and my secret dread.
Broken trust sells better
than precious metals
anyway.
